Art Workshops 2008

More information

Join us for one of our Spring and Fall Workshops packed with fun, friendship and learning - along with plenty of our famous hospitality.

Our Buckhorn area is part of the Kawarthas Lakes region, meaning land of bright and shining waters in the Ojibwa language. The forests, lakes, granite and limestone rock, and wildlife, have been an inspiration to artists for many years.

About our instructors

Our instructors' art can be found in galleries across Ontario and further afield. Some are in corporate, public and private collections. More details of their works and their workshop programmes are available upon request.

Whether you are a beginner or intermediate artist, they look forward to sharing their expertise with you in a warm and friendly small group setting of 5 - 12 students.

Equipment and Supplies

For first-time artists, a 'basic' supply kit can be used, on loan, for the weekend for $30. Please book this kit in advance.

Chuck Burns - Landscape Painting in Watercolour or Acrylic

Chuck's workshops in acrylics or watercolour are designed for beginner or advanced students. Classes will involve demonstrations, critiques, and group discussions. There will be ample opportunity to paint on location and in the studio, depending on the weather. Emphasis will be on simple approaches to achieving strong successful paintings.

Click here for some workshop pictures and some of Chuck's paintings.

Chuck's paintings are characterized by unique and interesting subject matter involving Canadian Landscape, people, animals, and close-ups.

An elected member and past-president of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, Chuck has been conducting watercolour Workshops for over 20 years.
