2009 Fishing Report

 

The biggest fish caught at Scotsman Point in 2009:
Walleye was 28½" and 8 lbs. 1 oz. and was caught by 8 year old Thomas Hill.

18 Muskie 42 inches or over were caught in 2009. The anglers who caught these Muskie were presented with Scotsman Point's special Order of the Kawatha Muskie Award. See below.

Zone 17 Fishing Regulation changes for 2010

 

This is the area that Buckhorn Lake, Pigeon Lake and Chemong Lake are situated in. Be sure to get your own copy of the new regulations. Follow this link for complete Zone 17 reguations.

 

1. Walleye limits: on a Seasonal license you can keep 4 fish and they must be between 35 cm - 50cm (13.8 inches - 19.7 inches). On a Conservation license you can keep 1 and they must be between 35cm – 50cm ( 13.8 inches – 19.7 inches).

 

2. Muskie limits: On a Seasonal license you can keep one Muskie and the length must greater than 112cm or 44 inches. You can not keep any Muskie on a Conservation license.

 

3. Yellow Perch limits: On a Seasonal license you can keep 50 and on a Conservation license you can keep 25 fish.

 

4. Crappie limits: On a Seasonal license you can keep 30 and on a Conservation license you can keep 10 fish.

5. Sunfish: On a Seasonal license you can keep 300, but only 30 may be greater than 18cm (7.1 inches), on a Conservation license you can only keep 15 fish.

 

6. There are Walleye sanctuaries in our area at Gannon’s Narrows, Lower Buckhorn at the dam in Buckhorn and Chemong Lake - Bridgenorth causeway. See full regulations for details.
